Tom Bluemlein OPA

Tom finds inspiration for his oil landscapes, waterscapes and still lifes virtually everywhere he travels. Yet most of his paintings are created close to home, in the Smoky Mountains region of Eastern Tennessee and the beautiful Ohio Valley woodlands.
Tom finds clouds and fog, with a strong focused light particularly interesting to work with. And no matter what the subject of his paintings, water holds a great deal of significance for him, perhaps suggesting energy flow. Created with an ethereal touch, Tom's paintings take the viewer far beyond the subject matter; his paintings create moods.
Tom's art career spans thirty years and several states-from his studies in Cincinnati, Ohio and Woodstock, New York to the inspiration he seeks from his year living in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
